I’ll give you all the best advice and tips I’ve gathered over the years so you can hit the ground running with video. Some background about me…

I began my own wedding photography business in 2012, and made the leap to going full time just two short years later. It wasn’t until 2017 that I decided to add video into the mix. I already had my degree in Sound Design, and through one hectic summer in Film School, as well as learning everything as I went… I added wedding films into my business. In 18 months I tripled my business revenue!

But more important than that… I gained the skills that would change my life forever.

I know, I know, that sounds cheesy, but it’s true! Video has unlocked everything for me, and I believe it could do the same for you too. I’ve become gradually much more selective about my client work nowadays, and I make my living by creating videos on YouTube. Isn’t it mad that we can do this? We can just press record and share something we’re passionate about, and it can one day become our job?

I’m thankful every day, and I can’t wait to share my knowledge and experience with you in this workshop. I firmly believe the best way to learn quickly is by learning from others’ mistakes, and — well — I’ve made a fair few in my time! I wish I had this workshop back in 2017 so I could have sped up the whole learning process.

FAQs

Do I need a specific camera to participate?

No! This is a workshop on video fundamentals, so the information applies to all cameras and all brands. I will be demoing with a Lumix camera, just because that’s what I use, but all cameras are more than welcome. Doesn’t matter if your camera is older, or newer. All that matters is that you have full manual control (the ability to change the ISO, shutter speed, and aperture independently) in the video mode. The vast majority of cameras will do this, but please make sure before starting the workshop.

Will this be just about wedding videography/YouTube/anything else?

Absolutely not! The video skills you will learn in this workshop will be applicable to all different kinds of video work. I’ll use many different examples throughout the workshop. There will be a behind the scenes video on how I shoot a YouTube video, but that info could be applied to so many different shoots.

How much photography knowledge do I need to have?

It’ll be really helpful if you know the exposure triangle before starting this workshop. So long as you know what the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO do, you’ll be fine!
